Campiglia d’Orcia, 810 meters above sea level is a charming village in the province of Siena and is situated on the slope of Monte Amiata from where you can see the spectacular view of the splendid Orcia valley.
Campiglia has remained unchanged since the original structure was planned before the year 1,000. It rises up from the slopes of limestone rock formations where a small path leads to a bell tower at the very top. The name Campiglia originates from the woodsmen, farmers and hunters.
